Wired vs Wireless Backhaul: The Decision That Matters More Than Brand
Here's the uncomfortable truth from our testing: the backhaul matters more than which system you buy. A mid-tier mesh with Ethernet backhaul to every node outperforms a flagship mesh on wireless backhaul in the same house — by 2-3x at the far nodes. Marketing hides this because nobody can change their walls' cabling after the purchase.
- If you can run Ethernet (or have it): buy the ZenWiFi BT10 or Deco BE65 Pro and use wired backhaul. Every node delivers line-rate, and roaming works better because there's no backhaul airtime contention.
